Repair. Reuse. Repurpose.
To help reduce solid waste, the Commission hosts regular Fix-It Fairs in partnership with Georgia Southern’s Fab Lab. These events bring together skilled experts who offer free repairs on a variety of items, including small appliances and basic electrical issues, furniture glue repairs, sewing and mending, bicycles, jewelry, and more.
Fix-It Fairs are typically held in the BIG Alley (62 E. Main St.) in collaboration with the Downtown Statesboro Development Authority and Keep Statesboro-Bulloch Beautiful. Be sure to check the schedule for upcoming events and see which items will be accepted for repair.

Where Can I Recycle?
The Greener Boro Commission has developed a Sustainable Resources Guide to help Statesboro and Bulloch County residents easily locate where to properly recycle and dispose of everyday materials. From household goods and batteries to used motor oil, plastic bags, and more, the guide connects the community with local resources and drop-off locations that support responsible waste management.
By using the guide, residents can make informed choices that keep harmful items out of landfills, conserve natural resources, and contribute to a cleaner, greener Statesboro.
